ALESSIO MAZZANTI

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Biography

With over 30 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, and business management, Alessio has developed robust expertise across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Before founding Latam IB, he was Director at Pan American Finance, where he served as an investment banker from 2005 to 2011, specializing in mergers & acquisitions and capital raising transactions for the medium-sized market in Latin America and the Caribbean.

From 2001 to 2005, he was a part of Valorem, the investment arm of the Santo Domingo family. There, Alessio worked as a financial advisor and manager for some of their companies, applying his skills in financial and management strategy.

Earlier, from 1996 to 2001, he worked with Violy, Byorum & Partners in New York, where he was responsible for originating and executing mergers & acquisitions transactions in Latin America.

Alessio’s academic qualifications include an Engineering degree and a Master’s in Business Administration from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Furthering his education, he has completed post-graduate programs at Harvard Business School in Boston, Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, and the London School of Economics in the UK.

ROBERTO SANCHEZ

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Biography

Roberto boasts an impressive investment banking background, with over 30 years of experience. Throughout his career, he has been involved in closed mergers & acquisitions transactions and debt and equity financings totaling over $9 billion. His clientele spans the United States, Latin America, and Europe, covering various sectors such as financial institutions, retailing, industrials, and media and entertainment, among other industries.

From 2004 to 2014, Roberto served as a Director at Athelera, providing advisory services to a diverse range of clients in the Americas. Before joining Athelera, he was a Vice President at Violy, Byorum, and Partners from 1997 to 2003. In this role, he honed his expertise in media, consumer goods, building materials, and financial services, focusing on the Latin American region.

Roberto’s career began at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1994, where he worked as a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance and Financial Institutions Group.

Academically, Roberto is an honors graduate in Applied Mathematics-Economics from Brown University. He distinguished himself academically as a member of the Economics Honors Society (Omicron Delta Epsilon) and Scientific Honors Society (Sigma Chi). Additionally, he was the recipient of the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award, further underscoring his academic excellence and potential in the field of economics and finance.

BILL CASEY

Senior Advisor

Biography

Bill has more than 40 years of experience in the Americas, and is a seasoned leader and strategic business advisor, having served as Vice Chair of Strategy and Transactions at EY Americas, as well as a member of the EY US and Americas executive boards.

His extensive experience includes advising private equity firms, C-suite executives, and global organizations across various industries, with a focus on beverage, fintech, automotive, and professional services, among others. A founding member of EY’s Strategy and Transactions practice, he has been instrumental in all aspects of the transaction cycle and has led significant growth in his business unit.

Based in Brazil with EY for five years, where he developed EY’s transaction practice in Latin America into the leading Strategy and Transaction service in the region. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Business Administration. He is a certified public accountant and an active member of multiple CPA societies.
